Kenya: Narok Welcomes Mara Police Post

Narok County elders yesterday praised the move by the government to build a police post in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Led by Daniel Talengo ole Kiptunen, the elders said security of every body including tourists and locals is important. Speakingin Narok Town, Kiptunen said it is sad that criminals terrorise tourists who come to view Kenya's natural resources.

"Let us thank the government in her effort to give security for our people and visitors. This country gets a lot of billions through tourism and security of the visitors should be assured," said Kiptunen. Recently, Internal Security Minister Prof George Saitoti said while laying a foundation stone for Mara Sun lodge that the government will build a police post near the Kenya-Tanzania border.
