Nigeria: Ocean Surge Threatens Lagos Residents

Lagos — EXCEPT the Federal and state governments act fast, residential buildings and businesses along the Lagos coastline, worth billions of naira, may be washed-away by the surging Atlantic Ocean.

The fear is compounded by the recent surge which broke down drainage and walls, uprooted trees and washed away the vegetation along the sea shores. Residents of estates along the coastlines, like Goshen Estate, are presently apprehensive as some of them have already lost their buildings to the surging ocean.
