Nigeria: 14 More Killed in Jos, Jang Ponders Vigilante Response

Against the backdrop of yet another 14 murders, among whom was a pregnant woman late Friday night, the Plateau State Government may have begun to consider self-help measures, including the use of armed vigilante groups, to defend the lives and property of its citizens.

To this end, the governor, Dr. Jonah Jang, is scheduled to hold an emergency meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan Monday to discuss lasting solutions to the situation that has left the state in a permanent state of siege.
