Uganda: Mukula in Trouble Over Wikileaks

Flamboyant NRM Vice Chairman for Eastern region is headed for trouble as revelations emerged from the online whistleblower, WikiLeaks, about what he told the US mission here that President Museveni was grooming his son to replace him.

Grapevine has reliably learnt that the man from Teso is being monitored by security operatives. It should be remembered that during the Global Fund saga, Capt. Mike Mukula tried hard to implicate the First Lady and it has allegedly not gone down well with this latest revelation coming from him. Mid this week, it is said security officials from State House convened for a meeting over the WikiLeaks cables. After the meeting, Capt. Mukula received telephone calls urging him from making further comments about the developments. Grapevine is now wondering whether this is the same Mukula who said, way back, that he speaks his independent mind.
