At least 3,000 runners are expected to take part in this year's edition of the Rotary Dar Marathon 2011 geared to raise over half a billion/- to build a children's cancer ward at Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH).
The runners will battle it up in full 42.1 kilometres marathon, half a marathon of 12.1 kilometres and 9 kilometres under a theme 'Help Children Fight Cancer.' The marathon which is collectively staged by the six Rotary Clubs in Dar es Salaam in collaboration with Bank M, targets to collect about 550m/- for the construction of the Rotary Oncology ward at the MNH.
