East Africa: Regional Business Summit Set for November

The forthcoming East Africa business summit hopes to find mechanisms of overcoming the challenges affecting businesses in the region, according to Fred Okwiri, the Uganda convenors' committee chairman.

The East African Community (EAC) trade bloc faces many challenges that inhibit business and competitiveness, including poor infrastructure, business financing and expensive power, which increase the cost of doing business.

The summit is scheduled for November 17-20 under the theme "Innovation- A Catalyst for Accelerated Growth in East Africa". It will takes place at Fairmont Mt. Kenya Safari Club in Nanyuki, Kenya.

It brings together top CEOs and technocrats in the region to exchange ideas on major issues affecting businesses and how they can help overcome them.
