A few months ago when a former Kotoko and Black Stars skipper, Kwesi Appiah provided technical guidance for the senior national team to draw 0-0 with their Sudanese counterparts in a 2012 Nations Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium, tongues wagged and many were those who rekindled the debate as to whether a Ghanaian coach could handle the Black Stars coaching job.
Many were of the view that Kwesi Appiah had shattered the hopes of local coaches nursing the ambition to take that job one day.
