Zanzibar — The Zanzibar government has dismissed rising concerns over funds collected as condolences for victims of the recent ferry disaster.Some people have raised fears that the funds may end up in wrong hands or be diverted to other use as more people and organisations continue to give donations.
"There are misleading reports from some people that the collected money will be used for seminars and other things instead of going to the aggrieved families; this is not true," the Second Vice President, Mr Seif Ali Iddi, said yesterday when receiving money meant as condolences to the victims.
