Plan International Regional Director Gezahegan Kebede yesterday said education is key to address gender power inequalities. Speaking at the launch of the "Because I Am Girl; The State of the World's Girls' 2011 Report" in Nairobi, Kebede said education results to many long term benefits, particularly for girls, chief among of which are delayed marriage and reduced domestic violence.
"The only way for to transform gender relations is for men and boys to be convinced of the basic unfairness of the lingering inequality between sexes," he said.
