The news from the Basic School Certificate Examinations (BECE) could only translate into more street vendors and truck pushers on our hands, instead of nurturing more scientists, doctors and men and women of the liberal arts, to move the society forward.
According to state-run Daily Graphic, only 46.93 percent, representing 176,128 out of a total of 375,280 candidates who sat for the BECE, met the criteria for entry into the Senior High schools and technical institutes.
