Tanzania: Funding Through Climate Change to Attract Minimal Interest

CLIMATE loans that Britain plans to channel through World Bank to poor countries to support mitigation projects against the effects of climate change will carry an interest rate of 0.1 percent payable in four decades, according to an official with Climate Investment Fund (CIF).

The CIF official, Mr Heather Worley said in a written statement while responding to activists against the initiative that: "Regarding grants and loans, please note that CIF offers a mix of financing instruments including zero-interest loans, grants, and risk-mitigation instruments.
