Kenya: Small-Scale Distillers Blame Watchdogs for Killer Spirits

Small-scale liquor distillers have blamed business rivalry and corruption at government agencies for the increase of killer drinks.

Mwicariria Lights Industry director Stephen Njenga claimed the toxic substances that have killed nearly 50 people in the past one month were mostly counterfeits, at times sponsored by bigger rivals to discredit competitors.
