Kenya: Sh5.3 Billion Released for Free Education

Education PS James Ole Kiyiapi has confirmed that the government has released Sh5.3 billion for the free primary and subsidised secondary education. The PS said Sh1.7 billion has been disbursed for the free primary education fund while Sh 3.6 billion has been sent to secondary schools.

"The money for the primary schools was factored into the accounts of various schools last week and that of secondary schools was released yesterday (Wednesday). Any school head who might not have received the money by next week should report to their respective district education offices for follow up," Kiyiapi said.
