Lawyers for the victims and suspects traded accusations over President Kibaki's statement defending Public Service head Francis Muthaura on the last day of the confirmation hearings in The Hague.
Making his closing submission on the case facing Mr Muthaura, Finance minister Uhuru Kenyatta and former Police Commissioner Hussein Ali, the lawyer for the victims Morris Anyah said the statement was in bad taste as it showed his preference of Mr Muthaura over the victims.
