Three persons lost their lives, while several others sustained various degrees of injuries on Tuesday morning in an accident that occurred near Kogo, a community in Bwari Area Council.

A witness said the accident involved an 18-seater commercial bus and a truck belonging to SCC Construction Company.

He said the commercial bus was coming from Dutse axis and attempted to dodge a pothole and in the process collided with the truck.

The witness described the pothole on the road as a death trap, adding that many accidents occur due to the problem.

A police officer involved in the rescue operation at the accident scene, said the drivers of the two vehicles died on the spot, while a passenger inside the bus was later confirmed dead at the hospital.

He said the corpses were deposited at a mortuary.
