Nigeria: New Year Blast Victims' Fate Uncertain Over Treatment Abroad

Contrary to media reports that three victims of the New Year Eve bomb blast at Mogadishu Barracks at Asokoro have been flown to South Africa for treatment, the victims are still in Nigeria and are not carried along on their travelling arrangements.

FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed had few months back told journalists that the three victims, ex-corps member, Esther, Army Sergeant Fafura and a teenager were to be flown to South Africa with two nurses for further treatment. The ex-corps member and the teenager lost a limb in the blast, while the soldier lost both legs as well as a hand.
