Namibia: Govt Doesn't Want Meatco - Mutorwa

GOVERNMENT has backtracked on a letter sent to Meatco ten days ago, saying it does not want to control the business.

The new Meatco will belong to producers in the form of a cooperative and will be removed from the list of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) as soon as the new structure kicks in, John Mutorwa, Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry assured the Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU) and Meatco board on Wednesday morning.
