Namibia: Amukoto's Exhibit Opens

Windhoek — Cardboard print, monotype and calligraphy artist, David Amukoto exhibit his initial solo exhibition called Otelemba at the Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) on Monday of 10 October to endorse the achievement of young artist.

Otelemba is so titled after a cultural drum. Amukoto is depicting and interpreting his cultural heritage in these mixed media exhibition. Amukoto's cultural background has played a major role in instilling a sense of pride about his past. "Clay pots, traditional dresses, the cultural activities and just the general way of life that I witnessed when growing up in the village is what inspired me to do art." Says Amukoto. The exhibition is stunning and attractive with him using different colours to make it more stylish and colorful. Apart from Otelemba, Amukoto also inaugurate cardboard print like fish, traditional dresses, eenkanga and many more.
