Egypt: Cabinet Approves 250 Million Pounds to Develop Slums

The Cabinet has approved the allocation of 250 million pounds to purchase housing units needed to remove life-threatening shanty areas in Cairo, Alexandria, Kafr El-Sheikh and Aswan, said Local Development Minister Mohamed Attiyah.

Cairo and Alexandria have already started removing life-threatening slums, while Kafr El-Sheikh and Aswan are still listing those areas, Attiyah, who is also the chairman of the slums development fund, said.
