Akure — The Ondo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) John Bekinbo Meheux at the weekend said about 139 persons died in the 172 road accidents in the state between January and July this year.
Bekinbo, who disclosed this while flagging off this year's ember month road safety campaign in Akure, lamented that road mishaps claim more lives than HIV/AIDS and malaria. He said that investigation carried out by the command showed that Akure/ Owo highway is among the five killer roads in the country.
