Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dr Diezani Alison-Madueke, Monday said the Federal Government was not likely to remove subsidy on kerosene in its planned deregulation of the petroleum industry.
Alison-Madueke, who spoke at an interactive session with the Senate Committee on Gas Resources, said the proposal to exclude kerosene from the list was because the product remained the domestic fuel in most homes in Nigeria. She noted that there was no ready alternative to kerosene and that any sharp increase in its market price would impact negatively on the masses.
