Kenya: Sehmi Beats Bhachu to Top Annual Kengen Day

18 October 2011

Haki Sehmi won the annual KenGen Golf Day at the Sigona Golf Club over the weekend. The handicap-11 golfer displayed top form, posting scores of 19 stableford points in the opening nine and 21 points in the closing nine for a total of 40 points. Sehmi opened his scoring with back to back pars through the first four holes, before dropping a shot on the long par-three fifth and another on the dog leg left seventh, the toughest hole on the golf course.

In the closing nine, Sehmi upped his game, dropping just two strokes on the par-3 11th, which now boasts a beautiful water feature to the front and to the right of the undulating green. Speaking after his round, Sehmi admitted he is enjoying top form and his swing is now back. "I have had some swing problems in the last few weeks, but now I am hitting the ball better and hence my score," Sehmi said. "I hope I will be able to defend this victory next year."
