Prince Yormie Johnson, standard-bearer of the National Union for Democratic Progress (NUDP), has explained why he supports incumbent Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of the ruling Unity Party(UP) instead of her main challenger, Cllr. Winston A. Tubman of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change(CDC) in the ensuing November 8, 2011 presidential run-off. Senator Johnson Tuesday announced that he would support the UP in the ensuing presidential run-off.
Senator Johnson told the BBC that he could not support the Cllr. Winston A. Tubman- Amb. George M. Weah ticket because as he put it, Amb. Weah had refused to be his running mate in the lead to the presidential election.
He said Weah rejected him supposedly because he was listed by the erstwhile Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) as one of the "most notorious perpetrators" of the Liberian armed rebellion.
According to him, many of those in the CDC camp had been advocating for war crimes and that it would be strange for him to support the CDC.
The Tubman-Weah ticket, Senator Johnson said, does not "reflect reconciliation."
"All of them have jumped in one camp and that camp does not reflect reconciliation. Many of those in the camp had been advocating for war," the NUDP presidential candidate asserted.
Commenting on his decision to support incumbent President Johnson-Sirleaf, the NUDP presidential candidate said the Liberian leader is the "lesser of the two evils".
He said it is better for him to support President Johnson-Sirleaf for six years than to support Cllr. Tubman for 12 years.
On the question of whether he has been offered something in exchange for his support, the Nimba County Senior Senator said nothing has been offered in exchange for his support.
Among other things, the NUDP standard-bearer added that he is interested in "power sharing" and would not demand money in return for his support to the President.

At least Weah has some morals and principles. The Nobel Peace Prize winner has now joined wit ha former warlord just to win. Ellen has no qualms about collaborating with Prince Johnson despite the fact that this man cut off Doe's ears and it is now shown all over the world. And she received the Nobel Prize!!! The Nobel Peace Commmittee must be so proud!!!!
Weah can not be part of the evil group, PYJ and EJS are the two combined evils. Weah had a point if he refused to be a running mate to a man who still has the blood of the nation on his hands, and who is strongly against the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) as Ellen Sirleaf is. birds of the same feathers fly together, and of course he and she are the two most notorious perpetrators of the Liberian armed rebellion.
According to PYJ, he supports his UP notorious partner in crime because many of those in the CDC camp had been advocating for war crimes; therefore, how then can he say "Many of those in the camp had been advocating for war"?
Liberians thought PYJ, a self-proclaimed born-again christian, has recovered from his mental disorder, but i seriously recommend him to a well-trained psychiatrist.
God, our leaders are great sinners! it is time for Liberians to strongly pray for God to forgive the sins of this country, and redeem it from the hands of evil leaders like madam sirleaf and PYJ. it is time for Liberians to ask God to get rid of these evil doers as the country is tend to keep going down once it is being ruled by the hands full of sins.

Politics is "the art of the possible".Prince Johnson decision to support President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is a possitive move for the peace and stability of the democratic atmosphere currently taking place in Liberia. But is it genuine or does he has a hidden agenda since he wants "power sharing"? His track record is:(1)Unreliable(he betrayed Charles Taylor as a battle field commander and broke away with his men to form a seperate rebel fraction),(2)unpredictable( he lure Samuel Doe to leave the Executive Mansion to meet at ECOMOG head office at the free port purportedly to form an military coalition against Taylor.Instead, he captured and killed Doe.(3)Doublecrosser(he dumped the CDC and other opposition parties just days after joining them to condemn the elections as fraudulant. President Johnson-Sirleaf will do well to keep an eagle eye on Prince Johnson and do not let him get too close because he is a deranged lunatic who should not be trusted.
