As part of the "Better Ghana" agenda, President John Evans Atta Mills has assured Ghanaians of his government's commitment to providing quality and better healthcare delivery for all. "Healthcare delivery is extremely important. A healthy nation is the ideal. We are all craving for that," he said at the commissioning of the new NHIA head office building in Accra last week.
President Mills said the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is the only vehicle that ensures quality healthcare for every individual especially the poor and the less privileged in society.
