Nigeria: PDP Turns Down Tambuwal's Request

The request by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and the Sokoto State National Assembly Caucus that the Peoples Democratic Party should not conduct any primary election in the state's re-run governorship election was Friday turned down by the Acting National Chairman of the party, Abubakar Kawu Baraje.

Also, yesterday, Hon. Henry Dickson, a governorship aspirant from Bayelsa State denied being sponsored by the presidency, but said he remains the aspirant to beat at the Bayelsa PDP governorship primary election coming up on November 19.
