The Cross River Government has ordered a talent hunt for swimmers from across the state."This is part of our efforts at making swimming a priority event in all sporting competitions," the state Commissioner for Sports, Raymond Obeten, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Calabar.
He said that since the state was surrounded by waters, "it has been decided that we make swimming a priority event"."It is worrisome that we are living in a coastal area surrounded by water and yet we cannot display skills in swimming.
