Kenya: Rights Group Protests As TZ Diplomat Hits Kenyan

A Human rights organization is up in arms against the police for failing to arrest a Tanzanian woman who allegedly beat up a Kenyan. According to the police, the woman, who works at the Tanzanian Consulate in Mombasa, cannot be arrested because she enjoys diplomatic immunity.

The Muslims for Human Rights (Muhuri) executive director Khalid Hussein and officer Francis Auma, claimed the police were taking a lot of time to handle the issue. The Tanzanian, identified as Clara, is said to have beaten Saada Suleiman over a month ago after they differed while at their business premises at Bondeni area. Suleiman obtained a P3 form the Central Police Station, which was duly filled and signed by a doctor indicating that she sustained soft tissue injuries and the left side of her face had bruises.
