Gambia: Minister Badjie Returns From 2011 Taiwan Health Forum

Fatim Badjie, the minister of Health and Social Welfare recently returned from the 2011 Taiwan Health Forum held in Taipei.

As the Gambian representative under the invitation of the Taiwanese Ministry of Health, Minister Badjie was accompanied to the forum by Abdoukarim Sonko, deputy permanent secretary(Finance& Administration) at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare; and Dr Makie Taal, the director of National Public Health Laboratories Services. According to a media dispatch from the Ministry of Health & Social Welfare, the forum attracted more than 300 internationally renowned academicians, proponents in diverse areas of health including health ministers and other development practitioners from various backgrounds.
