Nigeria: Police in Sokoto to Deploy 5,000 for Sallah

The Sokoto State Police Command has mobilised 5,000 men and officers to provide security before, during and after the coming Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the state's Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Adisa Bolanta said yesterday.

Bolanta told newsmen in Sokoto that the command has re-strategized its security operations to confronting the challenges ahead. He said the strategy was designed to sustain the peace in the state, adding that Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers had been briefed on security measures to be adopted in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
