Nigeria: Transporters Petition Adoke Over Police Harassment

Officials of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) have lodged a petition at the office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke, calling on him to investigate alleged police violation of court orders and intimidation of its members.

RTEAN officials led by its President, Chief Abubakar O. Sadiq, stated that factional crisis in the association has always led to unnecessary violent clashes, intimidation, harassment, unwarranted police involvement, illegal arrests and detention of their members.
