To overcome impediments occasioned by harmattan haze in the coming months, which affect flight operations, the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has commenced calibration of navigational equipment at some airports and en route stations across the country; to enhance air safety.
The agency said the calibration exercise started recently in Lagos with routine calibration of the two Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) and that of the Very High Omni-directional Radio Range/Distance Measuring Equipment (VOR/DME) of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
