The Oshakati Town Council has finally appointed a chief executive officer after the position was left vacant in 2008, following the departure of John Nghihepa.
Werner Iita has been appointed as the chief executive officer, effective from 3 October. Iita has vast experience in local authority at top management. He worked for the Ongwediva Town Council as a senior manager of finance and administration from 2001 to 2008, before he became the chief executive officer at the Omaruru Municipality, from 2008 until 30 September this year.
