Zambia: Police to Stamp Out Corruption

THE police command deserves commendation for acting swiftly to stamp out corruption in the traffic section of the Zambia Police Service by banning on-the-spot fines imposed on erring motorists at police roadblocks.

Many of the sordid cases of corruption that have sullied the image of the whole police service emanate from this wing because the bulk of traffic officers are now associated with numerous cases of impropriety.
