Nigeria: Lottery - Nation 'Loses N120 Billion Annually'

Abuja — The National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) yesterday, said the country loses close to N120 billion annually as a result of the nation's inability to key into the potentials offered by the lottery business.

Director-General of the commission, Mr Peter Igho, while welcoming the National Youth Council (NYC) in his office in Abuja, stated that at the moment, government has boosted the sector by securing the sum of N2 billion through lottery activities, adding that unless Nigerians embrace lottery with sincerity, the country will continue to miss opportunities that are derivable from lottery.
