Kenya: Do Not Crucify Prime Minister On KKV Without Facts

A World Bank audit report has divulged impropriety in the use of millions of shillings meant for the Kazi Kwa Vijana, an initiative co-ordinated in the office of the Prime Minister, Raila Odinga. The World Bank has subsequently cancelled the KSh4.3 billion government support programme.

The object and spirit of the initiative was, and is no doubt a noble one, considering it was meant to offer employment opportunities for thousands of youths. Principally, about 190,000 youth are supposed to have benefited from the initiative, which was expected to be significantly scaled up with financing from international aid agencies.
