Kenya: My Life in Danger, Says Ex-Mbo-I-Kamiti Chair

A former chairman of the controversial Mboi-I-Kamiti Farmers Company now claims his life is in danger. Stephen Waweru Njenga claims his Kiambu house was raided yet no arrested have been made. "The police have failed to protect me and get the people behind the frequent raids in my house. I know these people may kill me anytime," Njenga told journalists in Nairobi. Njenga has also written to police authorities in Nairobi accusing those of Kiambu of failing to arrest the attackers.

Mbo-I-Kamiti is riddled with controversies and a number of former directors have been killed and injured in attacks linked to the multi-billion property. Njenga said he had been attacked five times in the last two months and that the attackers. Yesterday, Kiambu police boss Samuel Mukinda said his officers had launched investigations into the incidents. Mukinda said they suspect the attacks were well planned adding that police will investigate the incidents and alleged threats.
