Kenya: Grenade Blasts Costing Us Sh100 Million Daily - City Traders

The businesspeople in Nairobi have said the grenades attacks in the city is affecting their businesses. They said the blasts cost them Sh100 million daily. There have been two grenade attacks linked to al Shabaab in a city pub and bus stage. The blasts killed one person and injured more than 20 others.

The Nairobi Central Business District Association boss Timothy Muriuki said the number o f customers in pubs and restaurants in the lower side of the city have declined considerably. "In shopping malls in the upper side of the city and markets such as Muthurwa and Kenyatta, there is also a decrease in the number of customers due to the reprisal threats by the illegal group," Muriuki said yesterday.
