Uganda: Lacrosse Top Job Excites Olympic Star Kamoga

Davis Kamoga deserves more than he is actually credited for. He is the finest quarter-miler Uganda has ever produced and only the second track and field athlete to have won the country an Olympic medal - the other is the legendary John Akii-Bua.

But rather than live in the fast lane, Kamoga prefers a quiet life away from the flashing lights. But for a man who won bronze in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta Georgia and silver at the 1997 World Championships in Athens with a national record of 44.37 seconds in 400m, he is certainly an icon. Having served cameo roles in the Uganda Olympic Committee and Uganda Athletics Federation, the 43-year-old has landed his biggest job.
