Beitbridge Rural District Council is appealing for US$500 000 to rehabilitate eight schools and two clinics that were extensively damaged by a storm.
The heavy rains also uprooted electricity and telephone poles in some parts of the district. In an interview recently, council chief executive Mr Albert Mbedzi described the situation as critical.
