It's the first time for most of us on Nature Kenya's regular Sunday potluck to see the Erythrina burtii in flower.

The canopy of the dryland tree with the burst of flaming scarlet flowers is so dazzling that everyone - both the Homo and the birds - is drawn to the trees.
