High Court judge Said Juma Chitembwe and former NSSF managing trustee Rachel Lumbasyo are now free. The two faced fraud and abuse of office charges. Dismissing the case, Principal Magistrate Lucy Nyambura said the prosecution had not produced enough evidence to warrant conviction.
The magistrate faulted the prosecution for charging the two against the advice of the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission. She noted that despite calling 36 witnesses, there was nothing to show that the two intended to defraud the state corporation of Sh1.372.
