Ghana: Agbesi Donates Computers to 18 Institutions in Ashaiman

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ashaiman, Alfred Agbesi, has donated computers and other items to 18 educational institutions and other identifiable groups in the Ashaiman constituency.

The items include 25 laptops, which were supplied by the Common Fund Secretariat, 10 personal computers, two motorbikes, 10 television sets, 20 raincoats and wellington boots, which were provided by the MP personally.

The estimated cost of the items is approximately GH ¢50,000.

The beneficiaries include the Ghana Education Service - one computer and one TV, Ghana Police Service - four computers, two motorbikes, raincoats and boots, four TVs, Ghana Fire Service - one computer and one TV, National Democratic Congress (NDC) office - one computer and one TV, and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) office - one computer.

Others are the Ministry of Health - one computer and one TV, NCCE - one computer and one TV, Non-Formal Education - one computer, National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) - one computer, Junior High Cluster of Schools - eight computers, and Primary Cluster of Schools - 10 computers.

The rest are the Council of Ewe Traditional Elders - one computer, Muslim Council of Elders - one computer, National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) - one computer and one TV, Ga-Dangbe Council - one computer, Ashaiman Traditional Council - one computer and one TV and GPRTU - one computer and one TV.

Presenting the items, Mr. Agbesi said people should not be surprised that he was presenting a computer to the NPP office, because the items were supposed to be given to institutions and identifiable groups in Ashaiman, and that the NPP office was in Ashaiman.

He appealed to the recipients to endeavour to put the items to good use.

Mrs. Florence Quaye, Ashaiman Municipal Director of Education, thanked the MP on behalf of all the recipients, and pledged that the items would be put to serve the purpose for which they were donated.
