The Former Vice President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya has commended President Museveni for supporting him.

"I want to thank President Museveni for standing by me when I had this case, he supported me despite the rumours that have been going around," he said.

He made these remarks Monday morning after the Anti-corruption court formally acquitted him of the cases in which he was charged with abuse of office in regard to the 2007 CHOGM summit.

While acquitting Bukenya, magistrate Catherine Bamumereire expressed her disappointment towards the IGG for not turning up even after he was notified.
