DEPUTY Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta has for the first time categorically stated that he will join the race to succeed President Kibaki in 2012.
"Nitarudi kuomba kura zenu kwa sababu nitakuwa kwa kinyang'anyiro cha mwaka ujao. (I will come back to seek your votes as I will be in the presidential race next year)," said Uhuru while he addressed Narok leaders at the season's hotel. He did not expound more on his bid but said he will speak more when he returns for a political rally later.
