Kenya: Minister Warns of Novice Aspirants

AN assistant minister has said some politicians wishing to take over the presidency when President Kibaki retires lack the necessary experience for the seat. Information and Communication assistant minister George Khaniri said some of the aspirants are political novices who cannot be trusted with responsibility.

Khaniri lashed out at the aspirants who he accused of being driven by greed for power. He said they should drop their ambition until they acquire sufficient experience. "The seat of the president is not something to joke with. I want to appeal to the newcomers in parliament to wait until their time is ripe," said Khaniri.
