Parliament has taken over investigation into how National Foresty Authority lost more than Shs5.6b to a company under dubious circumstances. MPs heard yesterday that Beachside Development Services pocketed $2m after it accused NFA of breaching a contract which was nonexistent.
Information before the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee indicates that former NFA executive directors, Olav Biella procured the deal and his successor Damian Akankwasa, who was suspended over financial scandals at NFA, paid out the money to Mr Charles Twagira, who purported to be a shareholder of the private firm.
