LECTURERS were yesterday dealt a blow after a judge refused to hear them saying they have to obey his orders first. Justice Paul Kosgei refused to listen to the Universities Academic Staff Union until they purged a contempt of court before him.
The judge said the lecturers and their non-teaching staff colleagues had disobeyed his orders stopping the strike. "It is trite law that a party who is in contempt of court must purge the contempt before being granted an audience," said the judge.
