Nigeria: The Political Storm Calms in Nasarawa State

Surely there is always a time for everything on earth. There was a time in Nasarawa State when the heavens were pregnant with tension as it pertain the political direction of the state. Immediately after the April 2011 elections, there was a tense political atmosphere, with many scared and expressing concern, and rightly too.

As soon as the elections were over and the CPC candidate, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, formerly a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP stalwart, was declared winner over the incumbent, Aliyu Akwe Doma, students of the school of anarchy went to town with all sorts of stories as to what the future of Nasarawa State would look like. These doomsday seers had a field day selling their wares to those who gave a listening ear. In fact, some of them just sat in the comfort or otherwise of their houses and offices to concoct what they had to say.
