Gambia: Traffic Slows Down as Four Ferries Become Inoperative

Drivers at the Bamba Tenda-Yeli Tenda ferry crossing on Thursday 17th November 2011 complained of the delay they experienced at the said ferry crossing due to the inoperativeness of the four ferries: namely James Island,Baddibu,Banjul and Kansala, a new ferry.

The drivers, who spoke to this reporter on the issue, asserted that the inoperativeness of the four ferries has impacted negatively on their earnings since they do spend more time at the crossing point, requiring them to buy food and other basic necessities.
