Africans May Have Better Continent in Coming Years - Transport Minister

Luanda — The Angolan Transport Minister, Augusto da Silva Tomás, said on Thursday in Luanda if ideas, plan, perspectives and programmes are materialised, Africans will have a better continent in 15 to 20 years, so as to compete with others in the future.

The minister said so, while addressing a press conference held at the end of the meeting of the African Union Transport Ministers.

According to him, together with ideas and plans it is important for their materialisation.

He said that there is in Angola at this moment a short, medium and long term strategy for the sectors of roads, air, railways and maritime that will effectively articulate the country and valorise its geo-strategy position in the region.

The official considered the corridors of Malanje, Lobito, the future airport of Catumbela and Namibe as fundamental for development.
